Strapped in and ready for high speedTom spearheads Saatchi & Saatchi’s fast-growing worldwide interactive capability. He works from New Zealand and London with both a worldwide focus across network clients for interactive creative, strategy and operations, and an London focus with respect to UK and European clients to develop interactive and mobile initiatives and programs.

The North Dakota native has been a Creative Director of Interactive for Saatchi & Saatchi since joining in Wellington, New Zealand in 1998. He has a role on the Worldwide Creative Board of Saatchi & Saatchi to drive market share and consumer involvement through web, e-commerce, mobile, games, rich media, viral and all emerging mediums. Tom leads the creative and strategic growth of Saatchi & Saatchi’s interactive and mobile capability, adding new teams and capabilities and forging worldwide partnerships with online and alternative reality gaming (ARG), software development, virtual worlds, mobile and strategic partners to drive capability with best-in-breed companies.

Tom is a multiple Cannes Lion winner, most recently taking Gold in 2006 for online and mobile innovation with Rubbish Film Festival and receiving 4 Shortlists at Cannes in 2007 across Cyber and Titanium. He has been awarded for his typographical and interactive work by D&AD, One Show, Clio, Effies, New York and London International Festivals, Type Directors Club, Future Marketing Awards, AXIS (NZ) and AWARD (AUS). Tom has judged extensively throughout the US, Europe and Australia/New Zealand and Asia.

In 2007, Tom was the President of the Cyber Lions jury at the Cannes International Advertising Awards. This is Tom’s third Cannes jury appearance, serving on the 2002 Cyber and 2006 Titanium juries.

In 2008, Tom is based in London as part of the team reinventing the UK agency, as well as working across UK, EMEA and worldwide clients.

His work spans a variety of sectors including telecommunications and online, automotive, professional sport, consumer banking, beverages, apparel, military, retirement, film and entertainment, museums and art, and disabilities.

Tom lives in London (and as much time in New Zealand as possible), haunting local comic shops and snowfields, snowboard under arm.
